Recently, within the past two weeks I attended a free sporting event. Seating was on hard chairs, NON-FOLD type, and OAK FOLDING CHAIRS. I was sitting on an oak FOLDING chair for a couple minutes and it broke without any warning, I was dropped to the floor, and my head hit the floor and I was knocked out.
A doctor was in the competition, and came to help. I have been told I was out for approx. three minutes. I was helped up to a sitting position, then approx. 5 more minutes helped to a soft chair. Outside help arrived, I was told that I needed to go to the hospital for more testing. I did that and a brain scan showed no bleeding. I was released a couple hours later, and told not to drive or work for 24-48 hours.
I did develop a mild headache, it went away a few hours later. I had a sore tail bone, little finger, and sore right arm, but don't have any issues that I am aware of now.
My question is, HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT BEFORE I SIGN OFF OF THIS ISSUE? The staff at the event did tell me several times that they were very sorry this happened, several people attending the event said that the chair just broke, and that I didn't do anything to cause such. I'm 6-foot tall, and weigh 185 lbs. I'm 77 years old.+
I have not heard from the event, they have called our daughter-in-law twice asking how I am, but I have not spoken to them.
Thank You,
