Vehicle Leasing - Anyone ????

We are looking into the idea of returning one or both of our cars (both on HP) and leasing a vehicle through our business. I've had a chat with the accountant and he agrees that it definately looks the way forward. Ie we can claim the VAT back and obviously let the business pay for the vehicle.
I am wondering if anyone out there has any experience with leasing ? Can recomment a good leasing company ? Can our (much less than perfect) credit rating affect this idea?

Hi sappy,
If you go on car leasing there are loads of adverts, I know you want advice from people who are actually doing this. The ads though do give you prices and whats included, excluded in the lease deal.
We lease through Motability which is different than what you will be doing I know. We still have no worries over service costs, replacement tyres and repairs although we do have an access of the first £75.

I lease my car through Lombard. I've had absolutely no probs at all. You can either renew or terminate after the lease period.

I know Lombard have been swallowed by RBS but they have always been one of the 'decentish' loans/lease finance companies.

Credit rating may be a slight problem. My bank manager (at Natwest) had to give me a reference for my lease....ie.biz is viable etc.

It is very tax efficient and all road tax etc is taken care of.

Just remeber to look at the small print and administration costs that you may occur.

Most companies will automatically pay any parking penalties or fines,
then pass them onto you plus an admin fee.

They will usually not enter into any dispute with the originator of the fine for you, even if you know they are incorrect (which a lot are and we know).

Make sure you know all the charges that may occur as result of any driving infringments you may occur.

Don't ever go to Lombard.

4 years of my life lost because things go wrong. You miss a payment they repossess and then come for the rest of the money they would have had for the full term.

Watch out for my story soon on watchdog.....
