  • Resort Care Europe - Holiday ''package'' scam ?

Posted on behalf of user - Ireland.

I was recently contacted by phone by a representative of Resort Care Europe offering ,what to me, was 2 weeks 5* accommodation and flights for 6 persons at the very attractive price of £199. Believing this to be too good an offer to miss I decided to purchase the holiday offer.

A few days later I received, by post, written confirmation except that the 2 weeks accommodation did not include the flights - the flights were completely separate to be used for a short break in Europe

The representative of Resort Care Europe omitted to tell me this, leaving me to believe that the offer was a complete package.

I am fully aware that this offer, as a combined package, was extremely attractive. That is why I paid for it, but the failure of the representative to explain clearly that the offer was for two separate items led me to contact yourselves to see if anyone else had experienced the same offer.

There was a news article earlier this year in the Express

    http://www.express.co.uk/finance/cru...r-went-nowhere

CONSUMER David Ross discovered that a “reasonable” holiday offer was nothing of the sort when the deal he paid for disappeared. He was persuaded to fork out £199 for holiday accommodation as part of a discounted promotion on a future booking that promised him a choice of self-catering apartments for a fortnight in resorts such as Tenerife or city breaks.

There are several warnings online about RCE and its practices, all referring to a cold call followed by a bonus weeks’ offer.
