Re: Trades Gateway cancellation Help Please

I am a few months payments into their course. Whilst hearing a few complaints about the company I asked one of the tutor team if I would be able to apply for a jib card once the course was completed. The tutor told me I would not be able to apply for a jib card as I would need to complete the nvq modules which aren't a part of the course. I checked my course plan which shows the nvq 2357 as part of the course and emailed back to ask him if it was or not which he promptly replied to me askin me to take the matter up with the customer service team. So I did. The lady on the other end of the phone told me there was "plans in place" for the nvq 2357 level 3 but I'm not at that stage yet. I replied saying somebody must have completed the course or be at that stage and she told me no one has yet!? But she did say plans where in place but wasn't sure.and that I'd have to write to the company to find out what was included in my course. I feel I've been well and truly had.

Are you considering taking a course and in what area? Do you currently work in the same sector you're looking to train in ? Really, I'd think you would be better looking for courses at your local college.

Could you give a bit more info about the test ?

Hi Gears ... welcome to LB! There are lots of people who are quite happy with their courses through Trades Gateway. I, personally, have seen lots of good reports (aswell as the bad ones you mentioned). I would say ... if you are happy with your course then THAT is the main thing. I wish you luck with it, and hope you enjoy the course to the fullest! Kati

I have sent the cancellation form back to Trade Gateway but have been told to contact the finance department. I have been unable to do the training course as I don't have enough time to do any of the assignments and am usually too tired from work. Which is the best way to contact the finance department and is it worth asking my bank to cancel the direct debit? I am coming to the point now that I can't afford to keep paying the money out each month

Hi Andy ... I would advise against cancelling the DD until after you have contacted the finance dept (you wouldn't want debt collectors chasing you after all) :santa_wink:

Who was your loan with? Your best bet would be to write to them (signed for/recorded - costs less than £2) advising them that you have cancelled the course and asking they stop taking payments from your account (they should be able to recall any unused money back from TG)

According to Company Check, their registered address is: First Floor 5 Doolittle Yard, Froghall Road, Ampthill, Bedfordshire, MK45 2NW

Although they have a 'contact us' form on their website that you could probably use too (http://www.cf4ts.co.uk/contact-form.php)

I have just used the 'Contact Us' form and did say about the cancellation of the course from Trades Gateway. I was going to mention about lowering the repayments but will wait for them to get in touch with me.

Hi, i have different problem with trades gateway. I want to cancel my enrollment with them. And the Advisor visited me at home did not evaluate my situation properly. As i am a second language speaker and moved recently to the uk. I signed with them in the 3 rd of november 2014 and i talk to them to cancel my enrollment in the 10th december. I did not study any thing yet and they did not informed me of the payment dates or of the date of cancellation. The advisor did not explain my rights of cancellation even after he knew i do not understand written english very well. And also i told im i am not in permanent job and i do not have a fixed source of income and i am not taking any benefits. so i felt they used me just they wanted me to sign up with them. Now, I do not trust this college anymore and i want them to give the money back to the loan company.. But the college send me to tell i cannot cancel my contract with them and they are not related or responsible of the loan contract. And i passed the period of cancelation. but the loan company did not send me any correspondence or inform me of the period of cancelation start date or the date of due payment. the only letter i received from the college to inform me of my online user name and password. Also i send 3 emails to the finance company but they do not reply at all. I did not pay any money to them and supposed to start in 15th december as they informed me lately.

How can I cancel this contract with both the college and the finance company ?how and where can i complain about my problem?

                                in brief
                                1. The college advisor did not assess my situation properly as i am not goodin writing english or understanding English language and there is some one writing on behalf of me right now.
                                2. The advisor did not explain my rights orally to me to understand my rights of cancelation.
                                3. I did not study anything even the first session.
                                4. The finance company did not contact me directly to inform me of the cancelation period.
                                5. The college represent the finance company in front of me and in the contract.
