Good morning,
I'm not sure if I have a leg to stand on here but...
I bought a very nice Hotpoint fridge back in late 2004.
It became quickly apparent that there was a design fault with it. I cannot recall exact dates but I am going to try and extract this information from Hotpoint themselves.
Time after time, it as always failed to auto-defrost and ends up falling over.
Obviously, calls will have been made to Hotpoint and I had been categoric with them previously in stating that it must be a design fault.
I am aware that you have 6 years to prove that an item is not fit-for-purpose.
Last week, it fell over again but the display has now failed. In my digging for information, I found a service manual online for the sister model the FFA45W and in there it states that cahnges were made to the design twice in 2005 and to the parts that would affect the defrosting.
Have I got any chance of holding Hotpoint to account for this as they failed to swap out these parts back when it was first attended to?
