This is (probably another in a long line of tales of woe ref: Parking Eye and their ways!) I have been recently issued with a Claim from Northmapton County Court in regard to Parking Eye Limited for an 'offence' of parking 20 mins over on a large reatil shopping centre car park. For (£165 inc. Court fee and Solicitors Fees.) Now, this is in relation to May of 2013 when I parked 20 mins over on a 3 hour Car Park in telford. This has hapened to me once before in Telford and a similar time (but this was in December 2011) I then contacted Which Legal Advice (I am a paid up memebr) and in no uncertain terms the advisor said just ignore these threat letters from Parking Eye, they're 'bullies' and they have no power to enforce this.
Fast forward to May 2013 and similar misdemeanor, in parking slightly over time at the same retail Car Park! well this time I ignore the letters and file them in the round filing cabinet (so to speak!) I come home Friday last week to find an official letter from County Court (Bulk Centre) where this charge has now proceeded to Court. I ring Which Legal - who kindly inform me that the rulings have changed and now they have the 'power' to proceed to court with these charges.
Well it was nice of Which to let me know that (after the event!)
So here I sit
faced with a charge of £165 or a possible CCJ and people around me telling me to 'suck it up' and pay. I know I dont probably stand a chance of contesting this fine on the gorunds of ignorance, or the rules changing in benefit of these 'thugs' (which's words and mine!!!!!) Any moral support and even better practical support appreciated on your forum!!!!:ban:
