  • Distance Selling Regs - Must I return within 14 days?

    Hi
    this site (showerenclosures.co) I know funny URL to start with, is saying that you have to return any goods within 14 days in order to get a refund. Now a shower door is a heavy item and i think it is not right that a return has to be made within this period. I was under the impression that i simply had to inform them of my intention to return the goods within 7 working days and then legally had a reasonable time to return the goods.

    this is their terms..are they allowed to do this?

    b) In all situations, the UK Call Centre will advise you as to the best course of action in arranging the return. The UK Call Centre may issue a Returns Authorisation Number, which should be quoted on any paperwork when returning goods or as a minimum, your name and your address will need to be provided in order to locate the position that you have placed an order with us. The Returns Authorisation Number is valid for up to 14 days only. You must organise the return at your expense and risk; goods must be received at our Returns Division within 14 days. Goods sent back without sufficient proof that they were purchased from us will be returned back to you and the cost of delivery charged to your account. Please Email us for a returns address

    Have you received a hard copy (or copy in durable form) of these cancellation rights, any guarantee and a geographical address for returning the goods?

      I know when I did telesales for o2 I was told the statuatory returns for distance selling is 14 days, 28 in case of a fault.

      I would ring them and explain the problem but to the best of my knowledge, any extention would be goodwill.

        It depends when the contract was concluded, and that depends on whether or not the company provided the above information in durable form - a website is insufficient.
