  • Default Notice- Help!

Hope this is in the right forum.
I took out a car insurance policy with Endsleigh Insurance. As I paid monthly, a company called premium credit collected the payments by direct debit. A few months ago, I called Endsleigh to change the account the DD comes out of. I realised last week that this had not been done and so I cancelled the direct debit to set another one up in the new account. The payment is not due until the 16th of every month and so I had plenty of time to sort it.
All money is up to date, never missed a payment and do not owe anything until the 16th of this month.
Today I got a default notice from Premium credit purely for cancelling the direct debit!!
Can they do this? I though I had to owe them money?
