  • Holiday worries

    Hi everybody,
Me and the Mrs are due to go on holiday on Feb 29th, to Egypt. We are supposed to board our cruise ship in Port Said, that is where 74 football fans were killed and further problems have broken out, including 22 kidnaps of holiday makers. Thomson the company we have booked with have canceled all day trips during the cruise, so no pyramids, no Petra and nothing but worry. The holiday was not cheap and if we cancel we would lose our money. Mr Hague in his role as Foreign Secretary has not said anything about 'not travelling'. So we are stuck between a rock and a hard place. We are fearful of what might await us out there. Does anybody know what we can do to get out of this holiday without losing all of out money?

    Thanks, Liam.

      Hi Liam

We went on the Red Sea Cruise on December 29th and boarded at Sharm el Sheik, we went to ****** and did the trip to the Sinai Desert, nothing wrong there hun, was a fab trip. We also did the trip to the Pyramids, believe me you are not missing anything, what a flaming disappointment that was. We did though have armed guards on our coach and alongside of us on the trips in ****** and Egypt, boy you should have seen the size of their weapons and believe me they we're not for messing about.
What ship are you sailing on ? we went on the Thomson Celebration, the food and entertainment were second to none.
Have you tried calling Thomson directly and asking what they are planning to do instead of those trips ?

Got that in my browser and look at it daily for updates.

Saffy, we're on the same ferry as you were, but without daytrips and only British and Irish passengers as all other foreign travellers have been advised by their foreign offices not to go, but our bunch of goons are sitting on their hands as per' so as not to upset the industry. I think a tad more thought for travellers would be in order and screw the industry, but as usual in Britain 'money is king'. The main reason we are going right now is so I can rest up and take time out before I have another major brain op, the shear worry is making my seizures worst, I just wish the place would explode A.S.A.S. so we don't have to go.

Liam ffs its not a blinking ferry its a Cruise Liner msl:, to be honest hun if this is causing you so much stress I'd go to the doctors and get a certificate and cancel the holiday, you can get a really good deal and have a fab holiday elsewhere without the worry.
            I assume you're insured ?
