    Fairfax Solicitors

    Anyone aware who these peeps deal with / for ?

    Had one of those random 'call Mr XXXX at Fairfax Solicitors on XXXXXXXXXX' with no reason given and no previous contact whatsoever.

    Obviously I haven't called them, just wondering what it might be. I don't think I have any debts outstanding tbh.

    According to Google, they act for HMRC
    "Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

      On 25 September 2009, Eversheds LLP transferred its Unsecured Recoveries business to Fairfax Solicitors Limited ("Fairfax Solicitors").

        Yeah i have heard of them a few times on (cough, cough Cag.. Choke some more.. Cleared throat) They do deal with debts, was mainly HMRC, but now they seem to be expanding to general debts as well.

        Personally do not talk to them on the phone, wait till they write to you, as it may be a Fishing excercise from them. Or if you do talk to them on the phone record it and say i do not know your company, or acknowledge any previous contact (they probably say they sent a letter anyway) or any on going buisness of any kind with them, and as such they should put their alledged greivances or enquiries to you in writing only, then hang up.

          HMRC hmmmmm. Nope def don't owe them anything, they were paid off long ago and I have got my tax returns all back on time with zero's all over them ever since.

          Ahhhh okay bells just rang in my brain lol, it's an IS overpayment with DWP. Although it is paid off. Grrrr. Just checked on the online banking and indeed shows one payment to DWP Debt Management and one to Fairfax - which covers the full amount owing - so the debt is clear. Probably they havent updated records or something so I may actually ring them then, as I know it isn't anything to worry over now.
