Looking for some advice went into Asda which I’m a regular customer at this afternoon to leave with no answers, no idea on who I can bring this up with as to why my carer and now myself have a ban. Only the last few visits I’ve been made to feel unwelcome and like I am being watched. I tried approaching the security a couple of times before and ignored.
I am currently at my wits end with increased anxiety levels due to the experience we had to deal with today. We entered the store and I headed to the back of store as I needed the toilet (which was out of order) before going to leave we browsed briefly before my carer chose to buy a sandwich upon leaving. Due to the queue he paid at the customer desk (my disability I am unable to stand too long), I ensured he got the receipt and we headed out of the store. The security guard made it very obvious he was watching us and proceeded to stare and point with another Asda worker. I approached the outside of the window and presented my receipt to him and asked him what the issue was. He came out the store and told me “no issue with you, that man is banned (pointing to my carer)”. Shocked to hear this I asked why he told me he didn’t know was just told he was banned. I asked to speak to the supervisor and proceeded to explain no one has spoken with him, approached him or given him any warning or ban physically, or via post anything. He is new to the area.
I went and got my carer out of the car and the security card called over the store supervisor who proceeded to call the security guard away from us and tell us to leave. Refused an answer and then banned me also. He then kept raising his voice so most the store was watching. I’m a 29 disabled pregnant woman I don’t need this stress just hope someone can direct the best way to deal with this
I have the whole thing recorded, I don’t know where I stand, all I thought was had to receive a banning notice with duration etc and reason. I don’t even know if I can go to other stores etc what. They have none of my details.
Part of my care plan is for me to leave the house and do my shopping and now I know this is going to impact massively. Tried asking for another manager and refused.
