  • Responsibility for item lost in post.

I’m a consumer. A business repaired a small item for me and returned it by Post Office 2nd class small parcel without a tracking number. That was on 17th October. The item has not been received.
The business is prevaricating continually saying it should arrive soon. I propose claiming the items value on the sender.
The Post Office website says that a claim can be made by the sender or addressee. My understanding is that the sender is responsible as I –as the addressee –have no contractual relationship with the carrier. Thoughts?

You do not have a contract with the Post office.
Your contract is with the repairer. Claim off them.
