  • A tricky one - Garmin/Tacx app

Hello there. I bought a Tacx Neo (indoor bike trainer) a couple of years ago (UK) and didn't use it a lot. I tried to use it today and it said on the app that I have to register with Garmin (who bought Tacx since my purchase). I had an email or two about this, but I don't like Garmin, never did, so I didn't register.
I emailed Garmin and got the "broken record" type of response "You will not be able to use the app as you will need to consent." (to their terms and conditions)
I don't want to give my consent to Garmin, and now, if I don't, I am stuck with a unusable piece of equipment.

Of course, the simple solution would be just to bend over and register, but it irks me that they can just force me to agree to something I don't want to just to use a piece of equipment bought before this takeover.

If my rumbling makes any sense, what do the legal minds make of this situation?

    Thank you
