Who is my contract with?

I purchased an approved used car from a main dealer and there's a dispute over liability for repairs.The car came with the manufacturers own warranty who say the issue is not covered. If the issue remains unresolved I propose issuing a small claim.
Is my contract with the supplying dealer or the manufacturers warranty service, or both?

The claim is for a fault caused by water ingress which is excluded under the 12 month warranty. The fault occurred after 11 months so outside the 6 month requirement in the CRA. Nevertheless in accordance with CRA guidelines (up to six years) the term in the warranty contract is both unreasonable and unfair given that I've only had the car for a year and covered less than 1100 miles.
Initially I've made a written claim on both the supplying dealer and the manufacturers warranty and await their response.
