Hi all, hoping someone can help me!
We have recently had our bathroom fitted to the tube of £8000. This was carried out over the last few weeks and after completion we were far from happy with it. Firstly the sink installed is much bigger than we requested and the one of our original order. The finished and tiling has not been done properly, with tiles that are not flat. We also had a issue the morning after completion where water leaked from the bathroom into the kitchen created a huge hole in the corner of my fitted kitchen.
We paid 50% upfront and have told the builders that we will not pay anymore until the fix the issues. We invited them to a meeting to discuss how they would fix the issues but are refusing to attend until after we have paid.
We have emailed a letter outlining the issues and that we will not pay until they fix the issues. We have given them 10 working days to respond otherwise we will claim back 50% through section 75 of our credit card company and contact the furniture ombudsman.
They have began threatening legal action and I want to understand if we are doing the right thing and what might happen next.*
I know builders will often try threatening but should I be concerned?*
