In September 2018 I purchased invisible braces from a dentist providing the treatment. I am currently paying via a credit agreement.
During my initial consulation with the dentist I was advised that my treatment will take no longer than 4 months. It has now exceeded this period and my teeth have barely moved.
I have briefly summarised the key events as to why my treatment has been delayed for the following reasons:
- The first set of braces were of poor quality (this is something the dentist had advised).
- New impressions (moulds of my teeth taken for new braces). I was informed my the dentist that these were rejected my the new braces supplier due to the quality of the impression and I had to come in for new impressions again. - This took several weeks.
- New braces are again of poor quality.
- Dentist does not respond to phone calls, at times the dentist is unreachable or their phone line is down- there was 3 week period where I could not get in contact with the dentist.
- I have now found that my dentist has been suspended by the governing body and will not be able to practice until this suspension is lifted (adding to the considerable amount of delay incurred during this treatment ).
As mentioned previously, my teeth have only slightly moved and considering the above I feel as though I have not received the service for which I have paid for and I would suggest that the service has not been conducted within a reasonable time.
Please can you advise on my next steps, I may explore recovering my money through the section 75 agreement?
Many thanks in advance.
