Disputed invoice with 25% interest charges

I have a dispute currently where I use a service annually who's charges amount to on average £900 per annum. The last charge was just over £2000, when I queried this I was advised it was due to extra work required to collate the information provided. Exactly the same amount of information was provided in both years. On querying why this work was carried out without my authority I'm advised it would be far too time consuming to ask me for authorisation.

As I am in dispute they have decided to charge 25% PA interest, is this legal? Also instructed a debt collection agency and threatened me with a CCJ.

Where do I go from here?
