Company winding up - can employees object?

Hi

Asking for a relative who is in a diificult situation with their employer.

Over the last couple of years there have been periods of staff not being paid, wages reduced etc It has sort of got back on track this year, and a proportion of arrears owed has been paid, but not all.

The staff have now heard that the company is considering winding itself up - mainly to avoid its debts we believe.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for info on where the employees stand, the employer isnt going to tell them anything!

Any pointers appreciated.

If they owe money to employees then the employees are deemed creditors, so yes they can make a claim against the company by registering as a creditor of the company.
