  • Advice on a cLamped van

I purchased a van via my ltd company recently and the v5 was sent in my name, I have sent it back to be changed in to the company name but have not received it back yet. It has now been clamped for council tax debt at my property. I need it for work purposes, it has commercial insurance.
    What are my options?

Are you looking for options other than the obvious one of paying the debt?
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

The Registered Keeper is not evidence of who owns the vehicle, it's written across the top of the V5C - THIS DOCUMENT IS NOT PROOF OF OWNERSHIP

The evidence of who owns it is the purchase invoice. If that shows it was purchased by the company and it doesn't belong to you personally you should go back to the baliffs with that evidence.
All opinions expressed are based on my personal experience. I am not a lawyer and do not hold any legal qualifications.
