atticus Oh thank you very much, that’s encouraging!! In theory I won’t lose… but I know I’ll have to wait a long time before I pursue, so they really can’t use the ‘we’ve not been paid yet” excuse. No, I haven’t approached my insurance yet. I’d renewed with a different company, and there’s a clause saying I can’t claim for anything within 90 days of policy start, which is fair enough. I think that’s roughly the end of this month, which also gives my client more time to have “been paid”. Meanwhile I’ll keep saying “you said you’d pay me in June”, then I’ll probably go back to “when will YOU be paid”, then I’ll threaten legal action and eventually I’ll have to do so! Thank you for all your advice.
