  • Received free service

    Hello everyone.

I am just wondering can someone, who has received a free service from me, complaint about the service on Google review?

If I were to file a legal action (defamation as what the person said was untrue), will it have a solid ground?

The person argues that it was a service but it was a free service given to her.

    Thanks everyone!

I can see no reason in principle why a free service cannot be criticised in a review. I expect you would not complain about a favourable review.

It would help to know what type of service was given, as it may involve more than your question asks about, can you explain please?

To add: defamation action is not to be lightly undertaken. A claimant has to clear a high initial hurdle of showing that the alleged defamation has caused serious harm. Cases often fall at this hurdle.

Just to add, it is very costly from application to the Courts to conclusion. Review sites has admin, if you believe the Review is not true, contact the admin for the site and make your case.
