Hello,
Our business is one of many which is located in an industrial estate, all businesses own the properties they are trading from, but the surrounding land is owned by a landlord. For 15+ years we have had no communication, maintenance or correspondence from said landlord. All of a sudden, all properties on the estate were 'ordered' to pay for parking, including back payments. There are no signs stating we must pay and there is no mention of car parking payments being required in the landlord agreement. Since all businesses refused to pay for parking, the landlord has since parked 8 No. articulated lorries and 20+ 1 tonne concrete blocks blocking the car park, access, egress and business signs meaning we can't get deliveries into our businesses without interrupting a main busy road. The lorries are blocking business signs which we rely on for passing trade, we have now experienced even more loss of business along with the impacts of COVID-19.
We have approached the landlord and asked for all obstructions to be moved, but he wants all businesses to pay him large sums of money before he moves anything.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks
