  • Writ from arrow global.

Today received a recorded delivery writ ( scotland) from arrow global who have bought my debt from MBNA. Not in position to pay it or other debts accrued. Writ says I have 21 days to defend or to pay. Not sure what to do so any advice would be helpful. Arrow Global have probably bought this for buttons and MBNA have never been forceful , even offered 50% discount but wasn't in position to pay that either.
It was an online virgin card, took out in 2008. Owe £7500 . Stopped paying in 2011. Paid token payment of £1 a month. They offered to settle for 50% discount which I couldn't do. Now sold onto arrow global who have never offered a discount and have now sent this writ from yuill and Kyle.
    Anyone any advice please?
    thanks in anticipation

If you are within the 21 days, apply for a DAS.

Sorry but I'm none the wiser . Is this worth defending or is the costs too great. Do I need a lawyer?

Dougie61, hang fire for more advice, got no real knowledge but to my uneducated eye the post from lawmaker looks a bit dodgy.
Hope some one can help you.

I know that in Scotland the law is different.
I saw mention of DAS can you look that up?

I don't have enough money for a das as this isn't my only debt. Just this one being chased up.

If you apply for & meet the criteria, a DPP is arranged, through an approved payments distributor, to cover all your debts.

All interest, penalty charges, etc are frozen, & all enforcement action is stopped.

It is means-tested, so you only pay what you can comfortably afford.

Offered to pay something but not heard back. Otherwise will have to try and do a das.
