  • New forum member looking for help with recovering a debt

    Hi,

I was recommended to this site as I'm looking for help with recovering a longstanding debt from my ex-employer. It has been outstanding for over 3 years, although I've received a couple of partial payments.

I've been threatening them with legal action for some time, and really feel that I need to follow through on this now, or I will lose credibility. The company has a reputation for not paying debts, and winding up orders seem to be the only way of guaranteeing payment. I sent a LBA a couple of weeks ago, and the next step is sending a statutory demand. I've drafted one, but would like a sanity check to make sure that I've got it right.

Please could you direct me to the appropriate forum to post in?

    Many thanks.

Likely the ' Bringing a Court Claim' forum -> http://legalbeagles.info/forums/foru...-a-court-claim

When you post there can you say how much the money owed is, if you have evidence of the sums you're claiming and if the company has accepted liability in writing, and what the money is owed for pls.

A copy of the LBA you've sent may assist - are you thinking of going direct to a statutory demand because you have seen this work against the company previously - otherwise what is the preference to that over a county court claim ?

Any support I provide is offered without liability, if you are unsure please seek professional legal guidance.
