  • Hi from a new member, but not new to debt :-/

    Just to say Hi all.
I am a member of another debt forum, but have been watching this one for a while (discovered it one day while researching for my own debts) and have been impressed by the quick responses to other peoples problems and how you help.
At present I have got a claim from Cabot (UK) with Restons representation and am still waiting for them to respond to my defence (same sort of defence that's suggested on here), it's gone well past the 28days they are meant to have to responded to the court!! Every time I ring the court I never get a straight answer why it's not been Stayed yet?
CCA and CPR31.14 were all served with no response apart from their generic letters (I'm sure most of you know them well).
Anyway I might need a bit of help down the line and might be able to help others who are very new to this etc.
    All the best for now.

Welcome to the forum William. The courts do have a bit of a backlog so it could just be that, and of course a stay could be lifted further down the line when/if they do find the documents. Might be worth starting a thread about the claim and looking if you might have other defences available if all the documents arrive in the post tomorrow ( unlikely but you best to be prepared ).

Any support I provide is offered without liability, if you are unsure please seek professional legal guidance.

      Hi Amethyst
Thank you for the welcome. Yes they did say that once to me in fairness, just getting towards 7 weeks!
I will post up in the appropriate section later, like you say, always better to be prepared before hand.
      Thanks
