  • Council Parking Ticket Brighton

    Hi

    Any help appreciated

I got a ticket on Sunday morning in a park in Brighton. I was parked on the side of a road - next to some council vehicles - there was no lines etc - just a normal park road.

    The ticket says Code 01

When I questions the parking warden - he said council vehicles are exempt and a park does not need yellow lines - the sign the front of the park ( it was quite a big park) was enough.

Can I appeal based on the fact Code 01 - is for parking on yellow lines?

    Thanks

I will have a nose and to be honest i have never seen yellow lines in a recreational public park

Not even in Hyde Park which is a Royal Park and the yellow line capital of the UK

Parking in such areas i would think come under local Authority Bye laws

The problem you have is by challenging the code you are admitting the offence of parking in a restricted area anyway

        Bang to rights

          Was it Preston Park?
If so it could be covered by this Traffic Regulation Order:
          BH244
