  • Parking appeal rejected- Parking Eye Crown Wharf Walsall

have been given notice from the Parking Eye to pay a parking charge that I feel is completely unfair.

This is a copy of the letter I sent to the Parking Eye soon after I received the first parking charge letter.

I would like to appeal the parking charge noticed served upon me.
I have attached a photograph of the parking ticket I purchased for that day. The reasons why it took me a few minutes to purchase the ticket are as follows; Despite arriving at the car park with the correct change I managed to drop a pound on the ground, it rolled under a car and I was unable to retrieve it. Unfortunately that was the only pound I had in my wallet so it meant I had to go to the shops to get some change. When I visited the carpark I had my two young children with me, one of whom is a toddler. I had to get the stroller out of the car, securing the child in safely. I had to do the same on my return; take the toddler out of the stroller, making sure the toddler is safely strapped in her carseat, pack the stroller, put the bags in, checking my other child was safe as well. As we were visiting the Art Gallery I was parked tucked into the far left corner, closest to the gallery, where Starbucks is located. I then had to drive through the carpark carefully, giving way to pedestrians and other drivers. As you can see by the charge notice, I left the carpark one minute after the ticket had expired so my actual time parked was less than the two hours. To me £85 is a considerable amount of money that I will struggle to budget for so I am hoping for some leniency in this matter.
It appears that the Parking Eye car park offers no kind of grace period for actually getting the ticket. As you can see it was my full intention to pay for my parking.

I have already sent the above letter to the Parking Eye who have informed me today that my appeal has been unsuccessful.
Please are you able to help me? I have applied to POPLA yesterday. But by the time I hear from them my 'discounted' penalty charged would have lapsed. And what I have heard from POPLA they seem to side the private car park company and are not independent at all.

Any advise on this would be greatly received.

    Many thanks.

    Hi, welcome to LB.

Could you post up a pic of the rear of that Notice to Keeper?....that's where PE put the nitty-gritty stuff.

and this is what I got back from the Parking Eye rejecting my appeal

        - - - Updated - - -

I have heard from other forums that the Parking Eye is particularly keen to take people to court and have won in the past.

Any advise with all the above would be greatly received.
