Hi all, hope someone can help me or give me a pint in right direction.. I took out a secured loan with Black Horse on a 60 month term. This is due to finish end of September this year.
About 2 years into the loan with no missed payments, I ran into financial difficulty. BH agreed for a smaller payment to be paid for about 4 months. About a year after that they sent a statement which did not read right, an extra 6 months had been added to the account without my permission or even me having any knowledge of it being added. I called BH and they said although they could see that this had been done, there were no notes on the system to say who did it or even authorised it, but they wouldn't remove them !! There were also charges of over £1500 on the account as extra charges from the above lesser payments (4 months !) this they cleared from the account as incorrect. My credit file is showing as 6 months in arrears and has done for a few years now, when I ask about it they say its because the system is still picking up the late payments, which were not late but reduced as an agreement. I was then told that every time I called I was to say it was an ongoing complaint, so that I would get through quicker. They also offered that if I continued to make payments on time for the remainder of the term (2 years), that they would wipe out anything outstanding at the end of the term. Which I have done. They have also sent me a letter to this effect. My big worry now is that BH has just sold the business to a company called Skye Loans, (who I have never even heard off) I have had letters from both BH and Skye loans to say that nothing will change account wise and all agreements and t/c,s will remain the same. Will they have to honour the agreement about the added 6 months, if I have proof this was agreed, and if not what can I do about it, it has been the light at the end of the tunnel for the last 2 years.
Surely, the fact that 6 months were added to my account without my consent must stand for something ??
Any help on this please, I have to call Skye asap to get their stance on it, and would love to know what to say back if they get awkward about it,,,thanks
