  • Re: Cabot Financial/Train2Game.

thanks guys. Will report in with more info tomorrow. Alot of my info is in one of my previous posts.
If anyone is good with legal letters and could make anything from my bullet points in my previous post to form a letter for me. I'm actually terrified of writing the wrong thing and have it come back on me. :/

will look up section 5-7 tonight and add to my letter. Do you have the address for CDF by any chance?
Looks like some of the addresses are false. Thanks!

You need to move away from lloyds as they charge a £1 per day on there overdraft fees go with First Direct. They offer £100 when you switch to them and a £250. Fee free and interest free overdraft.Vodafone can be quite expensive have a look at the skillstrain under scrutiny on google. CDF's adress is. Career Developement Finance Ltd PO Box 815 Luton LU1 1WZ. They are terrible what made you take the course out with them?.

Hi, I am new on here but really glad I found this thread. My son started the game developer programme as he's under 18 and has no job I am paying for it, money has got tight and I can no longer pay for this. I contacted career finance 4 trade skills who when I told them I am in financial difficulty they sent me a letter asking me for my wage and out goings. I have done this through email and also asked for all correspondence to be through email, they have totally ignored this and are ringing constantly. What do I do from here do I send this form off, my son no longer wants to do it as he's seen the stress its causing me, please if anyone can advise me I am not eating or sleeping and can't see a way out thanks x

It seems we're about all in the same nightmare here.

Can I please advise you all, at the least, to contact Citizens Advice Consumer Services to report your experiences so that the information can be passed on to Trading Standards. At some point this operation needs to be properly investigated and it will only happen if there are enough cases to support it.

This has been going on for far too many years now, CAB / TS must have hundreds of complaints.

Has anyone actually been through any court proceedings with them ?

Hi, Just wanted to get some advice, I have pretty much fell in the same trap as you guys, and I am really lost and confused about how to get out of it! I started a train 2 game course back in about august 2014, (This was when I was suffering with really bad social anxiety issues and being a carer for my mum) The sales man (Who was very convincing) Came around to my house sold me this course, said that I was wasting my talent and skills at uni. (I was really ill at this point and anything would have made me feel better and managed to make me feel useful for once and that i was actually good at something) in which he left. I was given a few bits of materials but didn't get booklets ect. for about a week or so. and now I'm kind of sick of paying for something that I am not doing and don't want to do anymore. I'm trying to move out of my parents house and into my own place and kind of need all the money I can get. They have lowered my payments to £60 just because they wasn't getting anything else out of me and I refuse to pay the full amount (Just because I don't have the money.)

I would really appreciate any help or advice given to me to get this closed even if I don't get a refund just to cancel the course would be great.

                        Thank you

Thank you ever so much for you help. I will grab all my documents together, and get writing to them

Just a quick question, Callumz on another page has written pretty much a letter to train2game/skillstrade whatever they want to call themselves. Is it actually possible to use that one as a mock up to send it to the company?

or would it be better starting from scratch, I am really bad at the whole legal writing and adding in anything that I have missed.

                            Thanks

Ok first of all, train2game have been, running under, different name's in the past, skillstrain, trade4skills scheidegger etc, they are based, in Luton, a guy called Robert Ager, was with skillstrain, they are now called, train2game, he had load's of problem's like we all have, under sections 5-7 of the consumer protection's for unfair trading's 2008, we have all been mis-sold the course, as we did'nt need it, hard-sold the course, misrepresented about the course, also there are load's of other clause's we have been mis-sold on, due also there is breach of contract, there are clause's under the supply of good's act 1979-1982 which you need to read through, loads of thing's that this company has gotten away with, to be honest the best route to go through is to go through a videogames company, like electronics arts, any question's feel free to PM me, if you have used, a credit card to pay, claim back your money through section 75, if you have used a direct debit, use the direct debit indemnity, by law if you are in financial hardship you can legally by law only pay a pound, put all information on here regarding, the contracts etc, and we will look into it. Use the skillstrain under scrutiny as a template and write down, everything, about being mis-sold sections 5-7 of the consumer protection's for unfair trading regulations 2008, get all your money back via the direct debit indemnity, section 75 via credit card's, and write the company a letter straight away with this, they will turn around and cancel the agreement, any question's feel free to ask.
