    started a topic Cabot Financial/Train2Game.

    Cabot Financial/Train2Game.

Hi I took out a course with Train2Game back in 2009 started the course and cancelled my direct debit as to moving flat and getting a new job I then got contacted by a debt collection agency Cabot Financial where I set up an agreement with them in 2011. In 2014 I just wanted the course to be cancelled so I looked on google for train2Game it had big :tape: next to it. I then checked out the collative learning website skillstrain regarding Robert Ager who took out a course with Skillstrain and decided to cancel the course He found information on false endorsements and false information regarding the course He contacted trading standards and the smalls courts then wrote the company letters and eventually got his course cancelled. Anyway I have wrote to trading standards they have told me to contact the smalls claims courts which I did. I then wrote train2game a letter they wrote me one back with information about scurrilous comments regarding Robert Ager. the second letter that I wrote to them I said that I would be contacting a legal reprisentative and legal action would take place. They sent me a letter saying as a goodwill gesture they would cancel the course. I then wrote them an e-mail saying that I would like to cancel the course and have all payments refunded to myself they said that they would not refund me. I have since wrote them another letter. Can anyone help.

You will have to check with city and guilds to see if they are accredited watch the Robert Aiger vide Skillstrain under scrutiny google it.

Have people tried complaining to City & Guilds? When I tried this City & Guilds said that no complaint could be lodged because I didn't have a valid student number with them - so I assume that Train2game intentionally only enrol students with City & Guilds at the end of the course, conveniently meaning that not only can complaints not be lodged by people in my position but also they save some money for themselves from each student that fails.

Has anybody else had a similar experience?

Hi, thank you for commenting. If you are on facebook, there is a group for trades gateway victims (also unde train2game parent company) who are also trying to fight this. here's the link https://www.facebook.com/groups/768393606620628/ I hope that together we can stop them and their fraudulent ways, or at least get out money back.

I'm sorry to bump this, I am in a very similar position - problems with Train2game - and just trying to take in all this information and feeling overwhelmed.

    Well Done You

Does this mean you've agreed to a Discontinuance of your claim which was due to be heard in court in a few days time?

If so I hope you've asked them to pay your costs as part of the settlement. A LIP can charge £19 per hour.

In the very least you should get your hearing fee refunded if you inform the court seven days in advance that the hearing is vacated.

Had the Defendant instructed solicitors or did you settle this direct with the them?

Write everything down, off the Robert Ager video, regarding sections 5-7 of the consumer protections for unfair trading regulations, 2008 breach of contract, the supply of goods act 1979-82 etc, and they will cancel, the course also threaten them with taking them to the small claims courts. And ask to get a refund of all money back, if they do not cancel the course, take them to your local, small claims court.

I too am in the same boat. I was subject to a 5hr hard sales ordeal. I actually applied for a job testing games. The same evening a saleswoman turned up at 7.30pm managed to sell me a tester course and even got my wife (who's an artist) to sign up for an animation course. We have everything ever sent to us. I haven't even logged on or started to course in any way, (my wife has spent hours and hours and a lot of money on upgrading our pc and stationary) after waiting for the course material to arrive I looked through and decided it wasn't for me. They say you have 2 weeks to cancel but I didn't get the materials until week 3. I've been paying this for years now at a massively reduced rate. I have requested that they cancel the course due to aggressive sales and false endorsements, the course is useless really.
If anyone can help me out I'd be forever grateful.
I have looked up the collative learning Mr ager video and his website. I am utterly out of my depth here. I have also notified my local trading standards but I've heard nothing from them.
I can upload anything you want I have almost everything including the glossy dvds they get you to watch.
