Hello,
Has anyone got any idea how we are to know we r the qualifying customer to receive shares when the banks / building societies merged?
I know it late for most of us because unclaimed shares can be sold three years after flotation, but how can we claim if we did not know we were entitled to them!!!
It takes me back to when Barclay's took over Woolwich. After about 3 years later I got a call from 3rd Party telling me I had shares with Woolwich (probably because I had a Mortgage with them since 1995) and I had a choice of signing my shares over to them which they will pay me for or I shall lose them and get nothing.
I did not even know I had any shares. (at the time I did not even know shares were:tinysmile_aha_t The chap was pity convincing, me being young and having lack of knowledge
signed the documents and a weeks later received a cheque.
Just got me thinking I've had other Mortgages and account with different building societies when they have had the merge with banks.
If they have not told us like my experience with Woolwich how would we know?
Thank you for your read all comments welcome
