  • Freehold Buildings Insurane

I have recently purchased the freehold on my building which is a 2 bed apartment over three garages. The property is detached and i am the sole occupier. As a previous Leaseholder, I paid a management company for the cost of insuring the whole building. I still pay a yearly estate charge for the mowing of grassed areas, electric gates & car parks but i want to know if i am now able to obtain the buildings insurance myself which would be a lot cheaper than the management company are asking me for. Would i be entitled to refuse to pay their buildings insurance when i am now the freeholder. The estate charge is not a problem and i will still continue to pay this.

    Help on this please!
