  • Collectica distress warrant

    Hi all,
I've read a few threads on here but some are a few years old so thought I would post.

in july I received a court fine for non payment of tax on a car that wasn't even working. I filled the paperwork out admitting it was my car and i was in the wrong and didn't hear nothing until I got a text message in September saying I that the payment of the court fine was due that day. I called the court, explained that I hadn't received a letter outlining any payment and that I was just starting a claim with JSA and agreed to a payment plan, which they said they would send out a payment card for. This card never came. I also lost the letter with the court details on due to some idiot plumbers who thought they would empty all my kitchen drawers and put my important letters on the cooker.
Anyway, for the life of me i cannot remember the name of the court so I have been waiting for another letter so I could call them but haven't received anything until today, when I received a distress warrant from a company called collectica.
I called them and they have agreed to a repayment plan but I have to pay the first installment of £83.00 by the 19th of December 2016. They said if I don't they will add £75 to the debt and send bailiffs round.
Ive explained im a single parent with 2 yr 7 kids on jsa and they aren't interested as they say they don't means test when looking at repayment plans. I only gt £118.00 a week, and I don't get much JSA as my rent and an old (6 years ago) budgeting loan is being paid straight from that. I don't even have christmas presents for my children yet.

    What can I do now?

    (Sorry for the rant)
