Barclaycard sold debt

Please can you advise, I received a letter from B.C. today saying they are transferring my account to Link financial, I have been in a payment plan with them for a year and never missed a payment. It says nothing will change for a minimum of 6 months just who I now pay.
They said they have a right in a clause in the contract that they can do this, is this correct and .can link change anything or add to the debt?
