Silly question, but does anyone know who I should contact to make an application for flexible working.
The company I work for has recently been acquired by a large multi-national whose main HR Department is based overseas, though there is a UK office in another part of England. My (former) Directors have advised me to discuss the matter with my Line Manager, but my Line Manager has already indicated that he will refuse the request outright. I would like to know that my application is properly considered at the correct level by someone with the authority to approve or reject it. Whenever I ask who I should apply to I am constantly referred back to my Line Manager who I know wouldn't have the necessary authority anyway.
I can live with the application being turned down but would like to know that it has been handled correctly.
