  • Breach of Confidentiality by Employer - Please help!

Please can somebody offer some assistance as to how I should proceed with the following issue?

In April 2016, my young daughter was the subject of an investigatory interview by two managers where she works, after she posted a tweet about the business in breach of their Social Media Policy.

The reason for the meeting was documented as "Gross Misconduct by Defaming Company." During the interview, she was told that she must not discuss the matter with any other staff members.

Following the investigation, she received a written outcome from HR stating NO FURTHER ACTION WILL TAKE PLACE.

The matter was concluded, but subsequently, my daughter has been approached yesterday by a staff member from another branch and informed that the conducting manager has openly discussed the investigation with staff at another store and advised that my daughter has been given a disciplinary for this incident.

I am interested about how we stand in this matter from a perspective of any breaches in confidentiality or data protection
