I'm wondering if anyone could answer a query for me. I have read on several sites that certain compensation payments made by the criminal injuries compensation , are exempt and discounted by the DWP for means tested benefits. I was wondering what circumstances these payments would be exempt . I am claiming Income Support as I am a full time carer for my disabled children. I also receive HB . I was sexually abused when I was 12 til 14 and the case only went to court this year ( 25 years later ) as it was brought up by another victim. I have claimed compensation for this and wondered if a Child Abuse compensation payment would be seen to be exempt / negligible by the DWP. Many thanks in advance
