  • Hello all

Just to introduce myself....hayleyjm here, nice to meet you all, mum of one and 10 weeks left for number 2! Live in Manchester, partner is studying law at mmu, I'm a qualified microbiologist and work as a part time optical assistant.

The reason I've joined the forum is to ask for a bit of advice really. I had a fine and points in Jan 2008 for no insurance on car as my lovely ex boyfriend cancelled our joint policy without telling me! Anyway, had been paying at £30 per month until approx May this year.....I have dyspraxia and find it hard to remember things, no letter from the courts has arrived until.....arrived home today and found a bit of paper on the door mat, stating that marstons were going to seize goods using a warrant of distress! Phoned the number given, a "MR Taylor" and he was adamant he was coming back with the police on Friday to seize goods and arrest me!!

Well, after doing a bit of research and obviously a sleepless night so far, I've come across a piece of legislation which puts me into "vulnerable circumstances", being heavily pregnant with health problems, and a partner who has bi-polar disorder. Does this mean the baliff must refer the matter back to the courts? I intend to fax them an adjusted letter template in the morning, stating that I am heavily pregnant and obviously have proof of this, I'm the size and shape of a whale!!

I'm not saying I'm not going to pay the debt, just haven't got the money at the moment. Do I ask for a payment plan??

If anyone can shed any light on this, ot would be very much appreciated!

    Hayleyjm xx
