  • Mechanic fraud

Hi im just looking for advice on how to move forward of claiming funds back from a fraudulent mechanic. A few months ago my van broke down and got towed to a named garage. At the garage one mechanic took over the job and i was informed i need a new engine. I know nothing about mechanics so i said ok. Though my mechanic got a quote for engine i searched myself and got a reconditioned engine sent to him for fitting.
he proceeded to complete the work but also informed me new parts were required which i agreed due to the engine being out it was best to get new clutch, flywheel and other expensive parts. Thinking then my van will be reliable again for a long time. The Mechanic wanted the money for these parts upfront so he could purchase them through his account.
Time went by and he wasn't completing the work quickly and giving many many excuses. He later said all the new parts are fitted and the new engine i bought was faulty. After more back and too and delays i got the garage/business who sold me the engine to take back the van and do all the work themselves.
this garage then informed me the original mechanic broke the new engine, didnt fit any new parts which id paid for and fitted all the old parts with incorrect tools and even glued items back on my vehicle. (Ive got a full report and pictures of the damage and faulty repairs)

Just to add i found out from the invoices i was paying this mechanic directly into his personal account for the work and items. I have invoices from a new named company he added to an invoice. I later discovered the owner of the main named garage rented out a ramp he said to this one mechanic.

my question is how do i go about getting my money back for all these items which werent purchased by the mechanic and the him breaking the new engine i purchased?
