  • PCN at Gatwick Droop-off Post Autopay Set-Up

    Hi Everyone,

I have recently received a PCN from NCP for a drop off charge at Gatwick Airport dated 25/03/24 for an incident dated 14/01/24, This is beyond the 14 or 28 days for any correspondence to be valid. I initially appealed on the grounds that the vehicle was registered for auto pay and recieved confirmation of the set up via e-mail. To my dissmay, I did not recieve any further correspondence resulting in the PCN letter now being received and the fine increased to £100 as I supposedly did not respond within the discounted period (18 days of the final letter of notice). There has been no acknowledgemnt of my appeal and I would appreciate any guidance/advice on how this can be challenged? I haven't been able to attach any of the letters/e-mail confirmation within the post due to an restriction/error.

So if you were registered with an AutoPay account before the alleged incident, and if you have proof of that, every time they write to you tell them it was their error, but as they failed to take the £x amount due you are prepared to pay it now.
You will probably have to tell them that many times, and possibly even repeat it in court if they are really stupid.

As you have presumably told them in your appeal that you were the driver, the late issuing of the PCN doesn't matter.

If you haven't identified the driver there are a number of defences open to you
