Dear all
I've gone to my freeholder/management Co wishing to purchase the freehold as we feel that our property would sell better as a freehold property. The figure they gave me was £4,100 incl. I've been on various sites that offer a freehold calculator but I can't find anything definitive. My thoughts are also that if you want to sell and want it done and dusted promptly you are somewhat at the whims of the freeholder/management Co. My question is whether there is an exact science to determining the freehold cost. We have 925 years remaining on our lease the ground rent is non increasing at around £8 per annum, the property value is around 800k. I'm half inclined to go with it in order to conclude without too much trauma i.e. is it really worth going toe to toe with them? I have done some research on the management Co and reviews are, to say the least, damning. However this was in respect of block management/inflated fees/premiums. TIA
Regards
James
