Hello there, looking for a little advice. Can a letting agent refuse to show me my utility meters, and refuse to tell me the name of the utility suppliers, because this is what is happening present.
All utillity bills are included in the rent, However, if I go over their quoter I have to pay the extra, the contract is signed, and I'm due to move in July. Every time I asked with regards to the utilities they were very evasive on the subject.
I thought this a little strange, so after a little digging, I found some rather negative reviews, with regards to them holding back deposits, due to utilities. All I want is to see the meter readings with my own eyes, so I know exactly what they are. So, do I have a legal right to see the meter readings on the day I move in. Many thanks.
