So in 2015 I had lost my job and sadly I couldn’t keep to my arrangement with lending stream, I did explain this to lending stream at the time but sadly they told me it had been passed on to TM legal, which then had been passed onto asset collections which after emailing them to set up a payment plan was a mare. I have been paying since Oct 2017 and to be honest never missed a payment despite them asking me to pay an early settlement amount about six times they have asked. I have declined each time as the payments are working fine for me.
Then a few days ago they emailed me demanding an early payment otherwise the case would be reported to the credit reference agencies as a default. I emailed them asking how it was a default as I had been paying and not missed a payment since 2017. They said that it was normal procedure as ACI represent perch capital and that it would be sent to credit reference agencies, this is purely they said to let them know that perch capital have the debt when I explained that I didn’t have a default on my credit file they said it would be if I didn’t make a payment in full.
My question is can they ruin my credit file with a default from 2016 even though I have continued to abide by the arrangement set up by them.
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
