  • Noisy Building Works on Good Friday

    Hi everyone, happy easter.
We've had builders renovating the interior of our block of flats since Autumn, its a 6 month job and we appreciate that there will be noise, dust, etc. and we all have a good relationship with the workers and foreman. At 6.40 this morning they arrived and at 7.30 started hammering and then started sanding the parquet floors in the hallway outside my door. I've mentioned to their foreman that work isnt allowed on bank holidays - our leases and the local council regs both state no construction work on bank holidays - but his response was that they're on a time schedule and need to get the work done and apparently plan to return on Monday.

The noise of the floor sander is deafening, and theyre also planning to stain and seal the floor later, meaning that it's too noisy to stay at home and I also can't return until later this evening because the floor will need to dry, so I'm effectively being evicted from my home for the entire day on a bank holiday.

We have an RTM Co (the directors live in the building) and an appointed managing company but emails and whatsapp messages have been ignored.

Is there anything I can do to get them to stop?

As usual, any help gladly appreciated.
