  • Van purchased turned out to have a certificate of destruction order on it help ?

Hi wondering if anyone could help me with this :

So I purchased a van in November while I was waiting for log back to arrive back from dvla they sent me a letter around 5 weeks later that it had a notice of destruction order against it meaning it’s been scrapped by a disposal company, so I got in contact with dvla straight away saying that I had HPI’d the van and that it had came back HPI clear, they told me to check again now as it can take some time to update there records which I did and now it is coming up as scrapped. I contacted the HPI company that I did the check with and they told me it’s not there fault that dvla can take some time updating there records. So then I contacted the person that I purchased the van from and he says he will pay me and keeps saying next week he will pay that was 6 weeks ago I paid £2900 for the van by Bank Transfer and spent another £900 on the van by doing a CAMBELT ,WATERPUMP, NEW WINDSCREEN, FULL SERVICE, AND GLOW PLUGS CHANGED. What can I do to get my funds back cheers ?

I Have also spoken to my Bank to see if they could do a charge back for the bank Transfer that I did to the seller, which my bank got back to the next day and said there’s nothing they can do for us.
