Hi all we have a car on finance and are now up to the 50% mark where we can legally terminate our agreement. We had an issue with the car which several weeks ago regards gearbox fault ( Bearings have failed suddenly ). due to mileage covered of 15000 in 2.5 years, we complained under the consumer rights act but due to timescale complaint was not upheld. If we hand car back would these bearings be classed as fair wear and tear for an 8-year-old vehicle that had otherwise been kept in pristine condition and cared for???
If they did try to recover the cost of repairs what effect would it have on the agreement ie would the agreement still show as being settled and any money owing for potential damaged be pursued separately or would it affect the agreement coming to an end on me terminating it?
