bought a house 2008 my solicitor acted for both seller and purchaser, which I pointed out was a conflict of interest was told it be fine, the seller was to stay in the property on a short assured tenancy, after 9 years she got into difficulty and could not pay rent, I took her to a first tier tribunal and they looked at the land register and it transformed that in the disposition the solicitor worded it that she was a life renter, now I have a property I pay a mortgage of £500 per month, with no rent, this is in Scotland, the seller was never known to myself, house report was £85 I paid £80
if any one has a good mind set on this one
