Help with removing CIFAS marker

I recently found out Bank of Ireland put a CIFAS fraud marker against my name in 2018. This was for a remortgage that I applied for. At the time I was self employed and declared my company earnings as my income. I have been going back and forth with them for about 3 months now but getting nowhere. I don't know what else to do. My credit files are excellent barring this marker and I'm desperate to have it removed. I have contacted the Financial Ombudsman but they apparently have up to a 4 month wait to even begin looking into the issue because of Covid. I need to apply for a bounceback loan but my bank has declined because of this CIFAS marker.

Can someone pls advice?

Is there anything else I can do?
