  • Lowell CCJ claim

    Good morning,

I received a County court judgement form this morning on behalf of Lowell Solicitors for an almost 6 year old debt owed to Hutchinson 3G of £393.61 ( I dispute this & do not acknowledge the debt) They’ve been contacting me for payment for a while & I’ve written to them denying the debt and asking for proof that I owe said debt. They replied with a letter stating that since it’s a mobile phone contract they are not obliged to send proof of this or any original documentation. Now I want to defend myself & dispute this claim but how do I go about this without being able to get Lowell to prove that the debt is owed? Should I just pay it despite not agreeing with the debt or monies owed? There is a default on my credit file for this debt which is due to drop off in two months time but now I’m worried I’ll end up with a CCJ instead for the next 6 years. I really just don’t know what to do.
