I have Parkinson's and Crohns disease, had to retire disabled 2012, this year we planned and saved through a credit union for a once in a lifetime holiday celebrating my wife's 60th birthday, 3weeks cruise and stay Asia, February holiday was booked and paid for last year. Briefly we arrived Singapore at the hotel received email saying cruise cancelled, due to stay a week in hotel then join cruise ship, flight a painful experience for me due to my condition but had 3weeks to recover we thought, travel company knew of my conditions. We travelled with friends, contact with travel agency was limited all this period they had assured us everything would be ok, they arrange return 3 days I tried to explain that I would be unable to cope physically and mentally with such a quick return and least upgrade to bigger seating area I was not asking for 1st class just space, informed agent that I would suffer I was informed they would cancel seats and I could arrange return through our travel insurance no chance of that, this was carried out via email I still have them. End result agony, unable to walk, urinating over myself, my wife crying friends totally distressed and I was carried off the aeroplane at Manchester,. Was offered a discount on next booking.
I have tried several companies of the no win no fee variety no hope. We cannot afford a lawyer unless there is hope, would I have a compensation case? and how do I go about it?. Thank you for any help.
